I started experimenting with gummies and jellies because let’s be real, giving herbal preparations to kids is not easy!
My daughter is fairly accustomed my concoctions and voluntarily asks for “cough tea” when she is poorly, which makes my almond mom heart beam. However sometimes herbs can be bitter, or she needs a tincture which tastes too strong for her, and I started coming up with creative ways to give her medicine. Turns out Mary Poppins was quite right, just a spoonful of sugar makes the medicine goes down…
Syrups are a great idea, but they require A LOT of sugar, and I find gummies more fun for kids, so the incentive is higher for them to be compliant, which is half the battle. So whilst I started this venture as something for my daughter, lo and behold everyone in the family now regularly turns to herbal gummies.
Here below are some of my favorite recipes, I also like to add flower remedies to these, just for extra measure but these are optional and at your discretion so I won’t include them, its just an idea for you to run with.
