I think some people find the thought of using herbs as medicine a bit overwhelming, and it sounds way too complicated to be able to easily incorporate this at home!
But a little chamomile will see you through a multitude of ailments! Valerian and lemon balm, will also help you sleep on those restless nights when you can’t stop thinking about the self assessment you incorrectly filed, and you are now wondering if you’re going to go to jail, or if this is the sign you’ve been waiting for to hire the accountant you ghosted 7 months ago. Just hire the accountant.
It need not be complicated. A little indigestion, calming infusions, coughs and colds, scrapes and bruises, a busy mind or some mild anxiety. A lot of self care can happen at home and can be treated naturally.
I started planting my seedlings at the end of August (I’m kind of winging it
as the climate here in Madeira is so wildly different to the UK, so everything is trial and error at the moment), and I’ve just come back from a month of travel for work, to find all my medicinals thriving! So here are some of the plants which are non-negotiable for me to grow.
