Hi, and welcome to Girl Moss, a newsletter about fashion, craft, and the ideas we attach to what we wear.

I come to handmade clothing through the fashion industry and an interest in design, luxury, and the systems that decide what is considered valuable. I’ve worked around the fashion industry long enough to be fascinated by it and skeptical of it in equal measure: the obsession with novelty, the hollowing out of craft, the way “luxury” is so often separated from the labour that makes it possible.

Here, knitwear isn’t treated as a hobby or a trend, but as a design practice. I use handmade garments as a way to think through authorship, and taste. What it means to make something slowly in an industry built on speed, and what craft can still claim inside contemporary fashion.

You’ll find writing about:

  • Fashion and luxury culture (and their contradictions)

  • Design & craftsmanship

  • Knitting dupes, yarn shops,

  • Personal style as well as life updates

Girl Moss sits at the intersection of editorial fashion and making: handmade pieces styled with intention, theory grounded in practice, and clothes that are worn, lived in, and thought about.
